Seems that no matter how far away I am from the farm, or how many years I’ve not been working there, that I’ll always be the ‘milkman’ – reminds me of the Beatles song … ‘cuz I’m the milkman … that’s one cow for you, 19 for me … milkman ….” in other words, WHY are you asking me??? It’s been almost 15 years … count ‘em, *fifteen* years, since I ran marketing at the creamery. And still, you and so many people want to tell me their childhood milk stories, and ask me if the cows are happy, and want to give me (for return deposit) their bottles. For the love of (insert your favorite deity, if any, here), let’s be clear: if you have questions, ask the Creamery – call my brother, or their customer service people, or … I dunno … email them, Facebook them … I don’t know!! I am NOT the milkman any longer. I don’t have milk in my veins. I am not part of the Creamery. And if you want to complain about the milk, or wax romantically about your childhood memories when the milkman delivered to your door, or when your father stole the cream top off the bottles, or how you used to spend summers on your grandfather’s farm in Ohio, then tell the people who actually work at the creamery, not me. And why post your question to some random page of my blog? Does it say anywhere on my blog — “Ask me if you have questions about Straus Family Creamery?’ My last blog entries state pretty clearly that I’m on the other side of the world, in Indonesia, doing stuff which has ZERO connection to the creamery. Have you considered, say, looking at the StrausFamilyCreamery.com website? Gosh, that’s would be a silly place to ask questions about Straus milk, now wouldn’t it?! Or, if you’re asking about Trader Joe’s milk, maybe do something totally crazy and CALL TRADER JOE’S!
