Joel – artist, filmmaker, friend – just finished this fabulous 15-minute video of Balinese ceremonies, rituals and processions. I watched it last night, and my first reaction was: wow, this is a perfect way for my friends (who haven’t been here, or been here lately) to get a feeling of life here — like, ancient ritual with a backdrop of scooters and cell phones; or the way processions seem to materialize out of thin air as you’re on a simple countryside walk near the rice paddies.
